Arkki brings new productivity features to media management
MediaPower’s cost-effective MAM delivers offline archive and enhanced photo management
Genoa, Italy (January 10, 2017) – MediaPower’s award-winning Arkki Media Asset Management delivers new offline archive and photo management, along with an improved search engine.
Top of the list is a new plugin that enables archiving of high resolution videos to single LTO libraries or robotic tape libraries. This optional plugin allows for reduction in online storage utilization while ensuring continuous access to archived content.
Photo management also comes into focus with new TIFF and EPS format support and automatic conversion and transcoding for faster image display. Exif metadata can now also be automatically extracted from images.
Arkki’s search engine has also been improved with active tags. For every metadata tag displayed for a library item, a one-click search is enabled for all other content with the same tag.
“We first released Arkki as a simple and easy-to-deploy MAM-in-a-box in 2013. While it remains simple and easy to use, we made sure that we turned Arkki into a full-fledged MAM system that helps manage, edit, and share media content much more easily” says CEO Marcello Dellepiane. “This batch of new Arkki PRO features is another validation of our commitment to improve and enable the media workflows of our customers.”
All of the above new features are applicable to Arkki’s PRO version. Active tags and enhanced photo management can be obtained as free upgrades (for Arkki PRO customers with active service contracts) while the offline archive plugin is optional and price-dependent on tape library configuration.
