King Fahd Medical City acquires MediaPower AirGo
Genoa, Italy (February 23, 2015) – Media technology solutions provider MediaPower
today announced the deployment of MediaPower AirGo at King Fahd Medical City (KFMC), the largest medical services complex in the Middle East.
AirGo is turnkey playout solution for multi-channel broadcasting that combines automation, playout, and interactive graphics overlay within one system. On a mere 2RU machine, it supports SD/HD SDI ingest, multi-format playout, low-res proxy generation, file-based ingest with transcoding and quality check, and comes with scalable built-in storage of up to 30 TB.
The AirGo system deployed at KFMC runs both SDI and file ingest over 2 input channels and play out content in HD over 2 output channels, with 2 preview channels. It is configured as a “channel-in-a-box” (CIB) system, enabled with graphics overlay, automation (scheduling and playlist creation and management), and also allows for real-time playout of content during ingest.
AirGo was introduced to KFMC through Al Ajou (ESE), a leading system integrator in Saudi Arabia and Baba Broadcast Services, MediaPower’s premiere distributor in the Middle East region.
Marcello Dellepiane, President and CEO of MediaPower, said, “Content providers should be able to deliver multimedia content as easily and as simple as possible, without limiting their expansion options in the future. With these objectives in mind, MediaPower fulfills KFMC’s requirements with a fully integrated, easy-to-deploy, scalable, and cost-effective ingest and playout solution in AirGo.“
