Pesci Combattenti Advances Content Creation Workflow with EVO Shared Storage Server
MediaPower to deploy workflow-defined shared storage by SNS at Pesci Combattenti
IBC 2015, RAI Amsterdam (September 12, 2015) – Pesci Combattenti, an Italian independent TV and media production company, is set to rollout a new collaborative editing workflow with SNS’ EVO workflow-defined shared storage through European media solutions powerhouse, MediaPower. Pesci Combattenti expands its current storage infrastructure and introduces efficiency and cost-savings into its content creation workflow through the use of EVO shared storage server.
MediaPower is a veteran integrator of industry-leading technologies for media customers, including solutions from Studio Network Solutions. For Pesci Combattenti, MediaPower has proposed SNS EVO, a complete networked server solution that combines a high-performance storage array with extensive connectivity options and a fully video-centric tool set. The EVO workflow-defined shared storage system gives professional media creation teams total flexibility with built-in NAS and SAN, more connectivity, more storage capacity, enhanced features like automatic project file locking, project/bin sharing, cloud integration, proxy previews, asset tagging, RAID 5/6, LDAP/AD, and remote monitoring and setup—all in one box. The latest release of EVO offers 16 bay, 8 bay, and 4 bay configurations, and includes ShareBrowser – a new app that ties all of storage and project/media management into a single comprehensive window. The ShareBrowser desktop client enables users to search across all EVO storage as well as local, offline, and other network disks. EVO also implements an unlimited licenses model on integrated hardware (no per seat licenses) that provides significant cost savings compared to other software-only platforms.
After extensive testing at Pesci Combattenti’s premises to ensure that their needs can be met and to demonstrate the potential cost and workgroup collaboration improvements to their existing production workflow, MediaPower is deploying a 16-bay 32TB EVO system that will expand and leverage Pesci Combattenti’s existing storage infrastructure and provide workgroup-editing capabilities for Avid Media Composer and Final Cut editors.
“We were looking to expand our production infrastructure and workflow,” says Giulio Testa, Postproduction Manager of Pesci Combattenti. “But MediaPower and SNS are delivering more than a backend storage that not only integrates seamlessly with our existing storage infrastructure, but also provides full collaborative editing capabilities to our editors, at a cost much lower than software-centric solutions. We also stand to save on future costs due to their unlimited licenses model whenever we add more users or concurrent workflows!”
MediaPower and Studio Network Solutions are both currently exhibiting at the IBC 2015 Show from September 11-15 at the RAI Amsterdam, at stands 7.J42 and 7.H40 respectively.About Pesci Combattenti
