Newsletter Issue 01 - March 2017

There is an abundance of content and reading material over the internet, a lot from our own Broadcast and Media industry as well. However, most of us do not always find the time to read each and every one practically because while there is some interesting content out there, there is also a lot of noise.

This year, we're putting together our own newsletter with the goal of sharing some worthwhile stories, insights, trends, announcements or updates not only on our own products or the brands that we carry, but also on topics of media management, news production and post-production processes and workflows, media storage, tv and video delivery, and the broadcast and media industry as a whole. We will strive to curate and filter interesting content (together with our sales, services and technical experts - both from our own team and our technology partners), provide our own insights and share these to you in support of our mission to help transform the way the world consumes media.

This is our first attempt at this goal and we hope to bring it to you at least quarterly or bi-monthly. Thus, we welcome any feedback - whether on the selection of content or with our own process or frequency. If you have suggestions on specific topics that you would like us to focus on more, that would certainly be very valuable. Just email us at marketing@media-power.it.

In this maiden issue, we look at what 1440p is and why it is not as ubiquituos as 1080p or 4K in TVs, the death of 3D TV, storage trends for 2017, updates on our Arkki MAM, the impact of in-store video analytics to storage and a webinar on cost-effective editing in 4K. Thank you very much and happy reading!

But, maximizing the value that can be derived from that data requires more than just capacity—it requires a multi-tier, high-performing storage system purpose-built for video applications that can grow incrementally and cost-effectively, while ensuring files remain easily accessible.
