MediaPower announces Arkki Pro
MediaPower releases Pro version of Arkki which features advanced video transcoding, editing, and sharing features
Singapore (June 17, 2014) – MediaPower announced today at BroadcastAsia 2014 that its MAM-in-a-box Arkki product is now available in a Pro version. The new Arkki Pro includes more robust and advanced video transcoding, editing, and sharing features than previous versions of Arkki.
MediaPower Arkki is a simple yet innovative media manager application built on a robust storage platform. It gives content providers the power to store, catalog, retrieve, and manage thousands of videos, images, and documents, all in a 64TB appliance. Its search engine boasts of a rough-cut and sub-clip generation facility that enables users to upload content from anywhere (web, lan, wan, etc.) and find content in Google/YouTube-style search and preview in seconds. Both business users and IT administrators will find Arkki useful, with its workspace customization and system utilization monitoring, all accessible via a customizable web interface.
After its launch in 2013, Arkki’s unique MAM-in-a-box concept garnered it a Pick Hit Award in NAB 2013. Since then, MediaPower was hard at work in creating more robust features that are typically only found in large-scale enterprise MAM systems. With Arkki Pro, some of the advanced features being introduced include a powerful embedded transcoding engine that allows uploaded videos to be transcoded or converted to other formats; automatic content upload through local or NAS connected watch folders; advanced video editing features that allow merging of different clips, ingesting/upload of edited clips as new content, or exporting video frames as images or photos; and sharing videos externally over the internet allowing non system users to view or download low res copies of shared videos.
With this announcement, Arkki now comes in a Standard and a Pro version. And to allow existing Arkki customers to maximize their previous investments, existing Arkki (standard) versions are also upgradable to Pro version, if Pro features are required.
"There is no doubt that being able to properly organize, index, and search your media collection provides a multitude of benefits not just for broadcasters or media providers, but in many other businesses as well. Unfortunately, most MAM solutions are difficult or too expensive to implement” said MediaPower CEO Marcello Dellepiane. “It is this realization that MediaPower pursues further development of its MAM solutions in order to allow many other organizations realize the benefits of a well-organized and searchable media collection.”
Arkki is currently being showcased at the MediaPower booth 5L4-05 at BroadcastAsia 2014, from June 17 to 20, at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Visit the MediaPower booth or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
